On Friday evening the Chancellor announced further measures of financial support.
Significantly the two having the most impact for our clients are:
- Deferring Payments of VAT
- Deferring payment of the second Payment on Account due 31st July 2020
As the situation is fast moving and changing I am taking the unusual step of not writing in detail about these measures on the blog but referring people to the advice on the GOV.uk web site which incudes how to take advantage of the help being provided.
The link below also includes other measures announced but it should be noted that, at the time of writing this, no specific measures for Freelancers, Side Hustlers, Small Businesses and the Self Employed have been announced.
In my opinion, it is just a matter of time before we see specific financial measures and I would urge patience as well as restraint of panic or calling out those who are trying their very best to help during these extraordinary times, the like of which we have never seen before.
Here’s the link to the latest update issued on Friday evening:
As further financial help becomes available I will post it here.
The main priority at this time is for everyone to stay safe and well. So please follow social distancing advice and socially isolate if you have any symptoms.
Let’s be sensible, calm and help one another by staying positive. This will be a long haul and we’ll all need unprecedented strength (physically and mentally) to get through this.
Negativity will only impede the success of surviving and coming out in a position to resume to thrive.
