If you pay your VAT by Direct Debit then you will need to take action if you want to defer any VAT payments.
HMRC are allowing the deferment of VAT payments from 20 March 2020 until 30 June 2020. You will have until the end of 2020-21 tax year to pay any liabilities that have accumulated during the deferral period.
HOWEVER if you pay by Direct Debit you will need to cancel this yourself making sure that you re-instate it for payments due from 1st July 2020 (unless that date moves out as part of any future financial support measures).
Please take action now is this applies to you.
See GOV.uk (CLICK HERE) for more details.
Please note that your accountant is not able to cancel or set up a Direct Debit on your behalf. You must do this through your tax account.
