Steve Kettle is a Chartered Certified Accountant ("FCCA") and member of the exclusive VAT Practitioners Group ("VPG").

Steve trained as an accountant in Industry and held a number of senior accounting positions including FD designate at the Post Office Insurance Society, at the time one of the UK's largest registered Friendly Societies. In the summer of 1990 Steve decided that he wanted to specialise in tax and joined News International plc as Senior Tax Accountant. Later Steve moved his career into practice commencing with Coopers & Lybrand (later to become PwC) in 1994. A six year spell with Ernst & Young followed prior to his final role as Director with KPMG which ended in December 2008. At this point Steve decided to step back from the commuting treadmill to become an independent tax consultant building a boutique tax business with the aim of providing "Big 4" specialist tax advisory services at reasonable rates.

Steve provides a complete accountancy service to business startups and SME's. In addition he also advises larger companies and Quoted Plc's on Indirect Tax and International Supply chain issues. However he firmly believes that it is unwise to consider any tax in isolation and he therefore follows an integrated approach consulting with appropriately qualified specialist associates when required.

In the course of his career Steve has advised a broad range of clients; the largest new client he secured being a $2.5 billion privately owned company whereas latterly he also supported a high net worth individual team that advised sports and entertainment stars, politicians and royalty. Steve has advised Banks, Building Societies and other financial institutions, but equally finds that he adds value when assisting fully taxable trading companies reduce their administration and operating costs.

During his career Steve has advised on a variety of tax planning arrangements that were terminated by changes in primary legislation and has instructed Leading Counsel in both planning and liability cases including Rialto Homes, and Domino's Pizza. Steve was an original author of Tolley's VAT Business by Business guide and other external publications produced by KPMG etc. Steve is an accomplished speaker and his training seminars on VAT topics are always well received.
