Two thirds of people polled do not feel that the latest budget supported small businesses and over half thought that the budget would negatively affect their business. These were the findings of a survey conducted by the Federation of Small Businesses immediately after April's budget.
In the response to this, small business owners are demanding that the Government introduce immediate Tax Breaks and Incentives to help them through this tough recession.
Elaine Clark, a Chartered Accountant and founder of CheapAccounting.co.uk, set up this campaign.
Elaine says
"Many of our clients are small and start up businesses and we are seeing the impact that the recession is having on their trading.
"Having listened to the budget last week I was astonished at how little there was to support the small business. It seems to be a huge area overlooked and ignored by the Government.
"I believe that small businesses will play a vital part in helping our economy to grow and thrive coming out of the recession. I feel that the owners of small businesses and those wishing to take the step to start their own business should be actively supported and encouraged."
Elaine has set up an on line E-Petition to lobby the Government to introduce a package of tax breaks and incentives that will have a positive and immediate impact on small businesses and start ups. She is asking for the measures to be introduced immediately without waiting for the next PBR.

"I hope that the Government takes notice of this and is serious about helping small businesses to survive the worse recession that the UK has ever seen"'
