What do I do now that I have retired from working completely on the 31st July 2017 regarding the coming year. Your advice would be most welcome.
If you are a sole trader you will need to complete a final self employed self assessment supplement for the tax year 2017 / 2018. You would include the date that you ceased to trade on the self assessment form.
If you are a limited company you will need to file final accounts at Companies House and HMRC and then close the company using a DS01 form (assuming that the company has no debts, has settled its tax liability and hadn’t traded for three months).
